Stick a 3/8 ratchet/breaker bar into it to relieve the tension, and pull the belt off one of the pulleys. I can almost guarantee you have a loose battery cable. This same exact thing happened to me. Doing about 80 on the highway and my entire car shuts off for about 15 seconds, gas is completly unresponsive and you just start slowing down. Well this year has been the first year I have had to get it smogged and I can not get it to pass. I know that when they enhanced my ECU they messed with the fuel injectors so that i would get more horse power.These are a "hall effect switch", thus they need to be powered up and then you check for output voltage from the switch. The voltage should come/go based on whether or not a belt is buckled in. If it shifts fine "engine off", that sorta rules out the shifter and linkage (not totally though). To test synchros, a "slow shift" or "double clutch/rev match" can test that. My preference and is more readily available to me the then OEM filters. Alternative recommendations for synthetic oil are AMSOIL and Royal Purple. I own a 2003 Tiburon Tuscani GT model with 6 speed but I can never get into 6th gear anymore. I bought the car in March 2006. Back then I was able to get into 6th gear, now I can't it only goes to 5th. I've taken it to Hyundai before but they won't fix it because they said they wouldn't be able to put the car on a hoist.Make all 3 timing marks are dead on: crank and both cams.
